Mark 13:24–27 (ESV)
The Coming of the Son of Man
24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and
the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And
then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Jesus will return on the Last Day to judge all humanity,
fulfilling OT prophecy and His own predictions. No one will enter the kingdom of God by works, nor will any mere religion save anyone. Because Jesus died and rose for us and because the Holy Spirit created and sustained saving faith in His people, we can be
sure of our salvation no matter how fearsome the Last Day may be.
I pray: Set my heart, O Savior, on the life and hope above, so that shadows of this world may not darken
my sight. Amen.

I pray: “My Savior paid the debt I owe And for my sin was
smitten; Within the Book of Life I know My name has now been written. I will not doubt, for I am free, And Satan cannot threaten me; There is no condemnation!” Amen.
