Matthew 26:14–16 (ESV)
Judas to Betray Jesus
14 Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the
chief priests 15 and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray
him.
Judas agrees to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. How often we, too, have betrayed Christ and sent Him to the cross for a lot less than 30 pieces of silver. Christ, however, still loves us. He died for Judas’s sin and for
ours. Repent of all insincerity, doubt, and fear to bear witness. The Lord is ever ready to hear your prayer and forgive your sin. So great is His mercy!
I pray: Hear my cry, O Lord, and answer when I call. Grant me a sincere faith.
Amen.[1]
