Matthew 8:14–17 (ESV)

Jesus Heals Many

14 And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”

It is interesting that Peter has a mother-in-law… which shows that the first Pope of the Catholic church was married.  Oh well…  What is more important is the compassion that Jesus had for his people.  Not only does he heal them, but he fulfills prophecy.  But there is a bigger message than healing people and that is his plan of salvation.

I pray: O Lord, help me to not get dazzled by healings, but to be dazzled by Jesus’s plan of salvation.  Amen.

"Depart in Peace" What a blessing when the world is so chaotic! Followers of Christ can find their peace in Him.
