Matthew 5:31–32 (ESV)

Divorce

31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Divorce is something that God hates, yet Christians all over the place are still getting divorces.  Why? That is a good and valid question.  If God hates divorce, why do Christians get them.  Well, why do Christians sin?  Sin is never acceptable to God, yet we all fall short and are sinners.  Too often there is more fighting against the marriage instead of fighting for the marriage.  Too often we are quick to file for divorce instead of working through divorce.  There are some that too much damage has been done to overcome.  My heart pours out to all those having marriage problems.  But Jesus tightens the clamp and says, “whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”  With this being the case, if you want to be married… fight for the marriage and try to make it work.  I will agree that this is easier said than done.  Make every effort to work through the problems instead of throwing in the towel.  This is a difficult topic… and not a popular topic.

I pray: O Lord, help all those having marriage problems to fight for the marriage instead of for divorce.  Help there to be forgiveness and love.  Help us to always repent and to seek your forgiveness.  Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
