2 Peter 2:10–16 (ESV)
False Prophets and Teachers
especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, 11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these,
like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, 13 suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked
for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
Because people are not reading the Bible as they
ought to/or used too… Angels have become a great confusion. I have read books about angels with the assumption that all angels are good. This is false! Satan is a fallen angel and all his demons are fallen angels. I have also heard many people say about loved ones who have died… that they are angels now! Wrong again! Humans on earth will be humans in heaven. Dogs will be dogs and cats will be cats… but to say we will be
angels is like going from being a cat on earth and a dog in heaven. No… dogs will be dogs, cats will be cats, and humans will be humans. Angels are created separately from humans… we are not angels (even if our mama says we are!).
Today’s reading focuses on bad angels. Take time to go back and reread the passage.
I pray: O Lord, help me to focus on you as you guide me
to heaven, where I will see you face to face. Amen.
