1 Peter 1:1–2 (ESV)
an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge
of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:
May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
1 Peter was written by Simon-Peter before 67AD. He wrote it in a time of persecution. This letter is valid for us even today as we endure persecution and hatred. As a Christian, Peter
will address the issue of suffering for Christ… and to even expect it.
I pray: O Lord, give us courage and boldness to stand firm in Christ
when the world is against us. Amen.
