Hebrews 11:5–6 (ESV)
5 By faith, Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him.
Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
It is interesting that the Genesis account says that Enoch “walked with God”
which could be interpreted as Enoch died. It seems vague. But today’s reading clarifies that Enoch did not die, but was taken to heaven (“because God had taken him”). Another gem of a verse is “And without faith, it is impossible to please him.” To please God is to believe in Him… to have faith. Faith is a gift that God gives you.
I pray: O Lord, I look forward to the day that I can walk with you in Heaven. Thank you for giving me my faith
and I repent when I don’t. Amen.
