Titus 2:11–15 (ESV)
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training
us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who
gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all
authority. Let no one disregard you.
I hear Christians saying that they can continue in their sins because they are forgiven. This is called “cheap
grace.” This is NOT what the Bible teaches. Today’s reading states that we are to “renounce ungodliness and worldly passions.” The world thrives in ungodliness and worldly passions.
The world has even become “sensitive” to those who believe differently. If one mentions that God does not approve the LGBT (Lesbian/Gay/Bi-sexual/Transgender/Trans-sexual) lifestyle… they will go ballistic on you and want to sue you.
Free speech applies to them, but not others. I’m not trying to take on the world, this is just simply where the world is today. God says to “renounce ungodliness and worldly passions.” We are to love all people, but we do
not have to approve all lifestyles. They should see love in us, not hate.
I pray: O Lord, the Christian Community is under attack. Help us
to stand firm in your Word. Amen.
