Colossians 1:1–2 (ESV)
Greeting
1 Paul,
an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae:
Grace
to you and peace from God our Father.
We see that Paul (an apostle) is the author of the letter to the church in Colossae. We also see that Timothy is traveling
with him. This letter was written around AD 60. This letter is addressing the problem of false teachers which are spreading heresy. We are still battling false teachers and heresy today, almost 2,000 years later.
I pray: O Lord, help me to study your Word and to be on guard against false teachers and heresy. Amen.
