From Pastor Perry

01/01/2018 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Philippians 3:12–16 (ESV)

Straining Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

For this New Year’s Day, I deviate from the readings to today’s passage from Philippians.  Verse 14 tells us to forget what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.  We are a new creation and we live by faith and God’s forgiveness.  Forget your past and focus on where we are going… Heaven!

I pray: O Lord, I know I have fallen short, and I want to do better.  I repent and am sorry.  Thankyou for your plan of Salvation to same me through your life, death, and resurrection.  Amen.

"Depart in Peace" What a blessing when the world is so chaotic! Followers of Christ can find their peace in Him.
