Matthew 13:34–35 (ESV)

Prophecy and Parables

34 All these things Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed, he said nothing to them without a parable. 35 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet:

       “I will open my mouth in parables;

I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Many ask “Why did Jesus speak in parables?”  It was to reveal God’s Word and Truth to the believers while leaving the non-believers in confusion.  Well, in today’s reading, we see another reason.  That reason is to fulfill prophecy.

I pray: O Lord, you have made blind eyes see, seeing eyes blind, and deaf ears to hear.  Help my believing heart hear and see your Truth!  Amen.

"Depart in Peace" What a blessing when the world is so chaotic! Followers of Christ can find their peace in Him.
