Matthew 7:21–23 (ESV)
I Never Knew You
21 “Not
everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast
out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
There are many people who think they are Christian and will be going to heaven. The question to ask is “Are you going to heaven?” Followed by the question “Why do you think you are going to heaven?”
Many think they are saved because they are a good person and they have never killed anyone or stolen anything. Others will say they are going to heaven because of all the good they have done. Well, you can never be good enough, or buy your way
into heaven. You can only believe your way into heaven. John 3:16 states: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus virgin birth, perfect
live, death, and resurrection was all for your sins. Simply “believe”.
I pray: O Lord, help me to believe and help my unbelief.
Amen.
