Genesis 30:9–13 (ESV)

Jacob’s Children

When Leah saw that she had ceased bearing children, she took her servant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife. 10 Then Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son. 11 And Leah said, “Good fortune has come!” so she called his name Gad. 12 Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son. 13 And Leah said, “Happy am I! For women have called me happy.” So she called his name Asher.

Spending part of my life on a cattle ranch, Jacob reminds me of a bull.  Our ranch was small, but there was one bull for about 70 head of cattle.  I wonder if he woke up with a smile on his face and saying: “Ladies, let’s get to work!!  Please forgive my sense of humor.  What we are reading is the building up of the Tribe of Israel.  God works through our short-falls.  Thank the Lord that He is forgiving.

I pray: O Lord, again I pray to help me walk according to your ways.  I know I fall short and I am a sinner.  Forgive me and use me to carry out your will.  I repent and want to do better.  Amen!

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
