Genesis 7:6–10 (ESV)
Noah and the Flood
was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth. 7 And Noah and his sons and animals, and of animals that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground, 9 two
and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.
We see today that Noah was 600 years old. Some wonder if the years were shorter back then. I will say no… the earth did not spin faster than today. Well… it has slowed down some in it’s
rotational spin, but nothing really material. If the earth were spinning 3-6 times faster, the gravity would have been tremendous. No… a day was roughly 24 hours then and still 24 hours today. Man’s lifespan is starting to take
a big decrease by Genesis 7, but Noah still lived a long time.
I pray: O Lord, help me to follow your commands as Noah did. Shape me and mold me
according to your will. Amen.
