Genesis 1:9–13 (ESV)
Creation of the World (Part 3)
9 And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called
the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation,
plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according
to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
God creates land and separates the land from the seas. Then he begins building a food source through plants and trees. With these plants and trees came seeds
and fruits. It is interesting to know that in the beginning, all the animals were vegetarian, but that changes after the Great Flood. But a food source is being readied for the animals that have not been created yet
I pray: O Lord, I see your creative hand at work preparing the world for man. Help us to not take your creation for granted, but to take care of your creation. I give thanks for
all the fruits and vegetables that you created. I guess I give thanks for brussel sprouts, even though I don’t like them. Amen.
