Revelation 21:22–27 (ESV)
The New Jerusalem (Part 3)
22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it,
for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, 25 and
its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. 26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. 27 But nothing
unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
What will the
Temple or the Cathedral look like? Well… it will look like God, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb… are the Temple. I love churches and church architecture, but there will be no buildings for a Temple. I think a
lot of Christians have the definition of what is a church wrong. Most will tell me about their building and what it looks like. That’s fine… I love buildings… but that is not a church. The church is the people…
that is, the body of believers of Jesus Christ. If a church building burns down, the church was not destroyed. It is still intact. The people are the church and God is the head of the church. Also, did you catch that there will
be no need for a sun or the moon, for the light is coming from God. You don’t have to worry about the electric bill or God getting unplugged!
O Lord, I can't wait to see you face to face and to worship you in your presence. I know you are with me now, but heaven will be indescribable. Protect me and guide me to your kingdom. Help me to share the Gospel with the people around
me so they can be there too! Amen.
