Revelation 19:9–10 (ESV)

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

9And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

John is listening to the angel and then he falls down at the angel’s feet to worship him.  The problem is we don’t worship angels which are God’s creation.  We worship the Creator!  The angel corrects him of this and tells John “You must not do that!”  He goes on to say “Worship God!”  I know back in the 1990’s, I read and heard a lot about worshiping angels.  I had discussions with people and asked them if it was a good angel or a bad angel.  They gave me a silly look and said all angels are good.  Well… I told them the truth about angels and that Satan and his demons are angels… fallen angels.  Not all angels are good, many are devils.  I also shared this passage in today’s reading that we should never worship angels… good or bad… but worship God alone.  I got my answer straight from the Bible and from the angel’s mouth!

I pray: O Lord, help me to worship you alone, and not to get caught up in New Age teachings, but to study and to know your Word.  Amen.

"Depart in Peace" What a blessing when the world is so chaotic! Followers of Christ can find their peace in Him.
