Revelation 18:17–20 (ESV)

The Fall of Babylon

17    For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.”

And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off 18and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,

“What city was like the great city?”

19And they threw dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out,

“Alas, alas, for the great city

where all who had ships at sea

grew rich by her wealth!

For in a single hour she has been laid waste.

20    Rejoice over her, O heaven,

and you saints and apostles and prophets,

for God has given judgment for you against her!”

In yesterday’s reading, we saw economic disaster on the merchants where no one was buying anything.  Today, we see those brings good in by ship are being hit economically.  So the evil that was prevalent on the land was also present at sea.  Evil was consuming the earth.  The only good news is that for the believers.  The Judgement is here.  But we will still have to wait… this chapter is not over yet!

I pray: O Lord, help us to endure unto the end! Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
