Revelation 8:10–11 (ESV)
The Seven Trumpets
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star
is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.
John sees in the revelation a meteor
coming from the sky/heaven and it hits a third of the rivers and springs. It is affecting fresh water as opposed to the sea. The falling star has a name “Wormwood.” The people are no longer able to drink from these rivers.
This reminds us of the Gospel writer Mark who states: “25and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”[Mark 13:25] God is in control.
I pray: O Lord, in that day, it will not be good to be around, however… help us to always cling to your saving faith. Help us to endure unto the end. Amen.
