Revelation 6:7–8 (ESV)
The Seven Seals
he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority
over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.
The pale horse’s rider personifies
death. Perhaps why the horse is pale colored. What follows death for the unbeliever? Hades… Hell. This rider brings death to over a fourth of the earth. Is it from God? No! It is from Satan… don’t
think that Satan doesn’t have power or cannot hurt you. As long as your heart is with Jesus… your protected. You can’t serve both. You are either with Satan or you are with God. There are many who think that they
are with God, but their lives tell a different story. God tells us to repent and to turn away from sin. Today’s world has confused sin with something that is acceptable. There are many things such as sexual lifestyle, alcoholism, drugs,
lying, gossiping, stealing, and so on. In breaking down sexual lifestyle, a growing trend in today’s society is living together before marriage. The world sees this as acceptable. But we need to remember that the Lord’s ways and
the world’s ways are often not the same.
I pray: O Lord, help me to study your word, and let the Holy Spirit shape me according to your will.
Help me to see my sins for what they are and to repent and to turn away from them. I am sorry for my sins and I truly want to change my ways. Amen.
