Revelation 5:11–14 (ESV)
The Scroll and the Lamb (Part
3)
11Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
12saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”
13And I heard
every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!”
and the elders fell down and worshiped.
When I read this, it gives me chill bumps. I want to sing these words. They are worshipping and praising God.
Verse 13 reminds me of these verses in Philippians 2:9–11 (ESV):
9Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
After reading this, look at verse 13 in today’s reading: “13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them.” Every creature will bow,
even Satan will bow.
I pray: O Lord, I humbly bow before you and worship and praise you. I give thanks for everything you have done for me
and the world. Thank you for not giving up on me, but being patient with me. Amen.
