Matthew 27:11-14
Jesus Before Pilate
11 Meanwhile
Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.
12 When
he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer. 13 Then Pilate asked him, “Don’t you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?” 14 But
Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor.
It doesn’t make sense that Jesus does not answer
them, at least to the unbelieving world. There is a reason that Jesus does not answer him. It is because he is planning on be crucified on the cross and to die for the atonement of everyone’s sins. So… if he is planning on being
crucified, why would he try to stop it? His silence is for your forgiveness. He had a plan and He was in control!
I pray: Thank you, dearest
Jesus, for Your silence before Your accusers and Your sacrifice for us. Amen.
