Matthew 15:29–31 (ESV)
Jesus Heals Many
29 Jesus
went on from there and walked beside the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and
they put them at his feet, and he healed them, 31 so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
These last several weeks have been tough with three of my members in the hospital. It would have been nice to take Jesus to visit them and have them all get up and walk out
healed. I’m not Jesus, but I did take Jesus to them. I visited them, prayed with them and gave them the Lord’s Supper. Jesus has a lot of people showing up with different health problems (lame, blind, crippled, mute and many others).
Measure this up with Isaiah’s prophecy: Isaiah 35:5–6 (ESV)
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
and
the ears of the deaf unstopped;
6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.
For waters break forth in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert;
I pray: O Lord, you did not only say that you are fulfilling prophecy, but you actually did. Help me to always trust you and forgive me when I don’t. Amen.
