Matthew 13:45–46 (ESV)
The Parable of the Pearl of Great Value
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
It is easy to over interpret this parable, just like the previous parable. Keep in mind that this parable is about “the kingdom of heaven.” Instead
of looking at this parable as if we can buy our salvation, we need to look at it and realize that Christ bought the precious prize (you/the church) with his precious blood. He paid with his life, the ultimate cost.
I pray: Heavenly Father, grant me Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Amen.
