From Pastor Perry

Matthew 10:1 (ESV)

The Twelve Apostles

10 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Matthew lists out the names of the twelve Apostles.  It is the only time Matthew uses the Apostle.  What is more interesting than the listing of the names is what Jesus gave them.  He “gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.”  Jesus did not hold back, he gave them the very gifts that he has been sharing with the world.  They have the power to cast out demons and to heal the sick.  There is also the joy of telling others about Jesus.  A gift that we all have.

I pray: O Lord, thank you for your gift of faith to me.  I give thanks for forgiveness and eternal life.  I know what I deserve, but you have given me the greatest gifts.  I humbly repent and want to do better.  Thank you for loving me.  Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
