From Pastor Perry

01/04/2016 Matt. 8:1--4

Jesus Cleanses a Leper
8 When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”

After Jesus delivers the long Sermon on the Mount, he adds to his authority the ability to heal.  A leper comes to him.  Instead of crying out "unclean," he cries out in faith “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”  Jesus had just demonstrated his Divine authority throuh his Word, now he displays his Divinie power through the action of healing.  With compassion and authority, Jesus says “I will; be clean,” and he was immediately healed!

I pray: Oh Lord, how could I ever doubt you, but I do.  Every time I sin, I put my ways oover yyours, thus putting myself as God.  I repent and ask for your forgiveness and want to do better.  Amen.
