Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving thanks.
Shout for joy to
the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know
that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
The scriptures tell us we should
give thanks for all things... and we should. Giving thanks doesn't always come easy... especially when you have had to deal with death, illness, loneliness, financial problems, breakups, and so on.... God provides for all people, believers and
unbelievers. But how can we give thanks when we may be suffering? Well, pinch yourself and see if you are alive. There is a reason! For me, troubles and hardships actually bring me closer to God. Nobody wants trials and temptations,
but they provide an opportunity to see God at work in our lives. Instead of running away from him, run to him. Trust in the Lord and give thanks. Whether you are by yourself or with family or friends, take a moment today to stop and
give thanks to the Lord.
I pray: O Lord, you created me, yet often I turn my back on you. Everytime I sin, I turn my back on you and choose to do things my way instead of yours. I
repent and gieve thanks for your gifts of forgiveness, eternal life, and salvation. Thank you Lord for all you do for me. Amen.
