Boasting About Tomorrow
13 Come now, you
who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and

When I read today’s reading, it reminds me of Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
So don’t worry about tomorrow, because we don’t know what is going to happen. A pastor used to end all his statements “Lord willing!” If the Lord wants it to happen, then it will happen. If the Lord wants something
different, then that will happen.
I pray: O Lord, help me to trust you to set my schedule and to not worry about tomorrow. Help me to take each day as it comes. Amen.
