Hebrews 13:20–21 (ESV)
Benediction
20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

If you go to a liturgical church, you are probably familiar with the Aaronic Benediction which is found in Numbers 6:24-26 and is stated below.

Numbers 6:24–26 (ESV)
    24     The Lord bless you and keep you;
    25     the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
    26     the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

This closes out many worship services.  In today’s reading, we have another benediction from the author of Hebrews.

Amen.

Notice the mentioning of “brought from the dead”.  The resurrection is a BIG thing.  We worship a resurrected Jesus Christ.  He is not about death, but about life.  He brings life to us, even through death.  Also notice that these benedictions are not about what you do to or for God, but right the other way around.  They are about what God has done for you!

I pray: O heavenly Father, you raised your Son from the dead back to life.  You have promised to do the same for us, your believers.  You are about life and you have taken care of everything for us so that we may have life.  I thank you for your love and forgiveness.  Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
