Hebrews 13:1–5 (ESV)
Sacrifices Pleasing to God
13 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3 Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. 4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. 5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

I often hear from people that they want to know what they are supposed to do and how they are to live.  Well, everything you need for your salvation, Jesus has already taken care of and you simply continue to believe.  How are we to live?  As Christians.  Love your neighbor as yourself.  Well, today’s reading hits on this part.  Show hospitality to strangers.  Remember those who are in prison or believers who are persecuted.  Then there is a strong statement to flee from sexual immorality, adultery, and to “let the marriage bed be undefiled.”  This last statement flies in the face with the direction America is moving.  Couples today want to “test drive” the marriage by living together.  But we are not to live together, but to let the marriage bed be undefiled.  Also, don’t let money be your God.  Keep your life free from the love of money.  Then another strong statement: “be content with what you have.”  This fits in with the 9th and 10th Commandment of not coveting your neighbor’s house, wife, man servant, maid servant, ox (car), donkey (truck), or anything else (play station, TV, swimming pool,...).

I pray: O Lord... Help me to do all these!  Especially help me to be content with my home, my wife, job, car, ... that you alone be my God.  I need help.  Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
