Romans 10 (ESV)
10 Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness
that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to
everyone who believes.
I wish we could all have Paul’s desire. His desire was simple. He said “my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.”
The question is who is “they”? Here, it is the Jews. I can honestly say that my desire and prayer to God is for “nonbelievers” to be saved. I can say this with my mouth, but my actions don’t always back up my
desire. How many times have I remained silent instead of sharing the Gospel. How many times have you remained silent when you could proclaim the Gospel. Many people think they can be or are good enough to get into heaven. Well... that
is not what gets you in. It is faith... by believing.
I pray: O Lord, help me to put action to match my desire for all to be saved. Forgive me for my lack of action and remaining silent.
Help me to put others before myself and to boldly tell others about Jesus and what he has done for me. Amen.
