Romans 8:26–30 (ESV)
Future Glory
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

There are times when we go through sufferings, trials, or storms, that are so painful... that all we can do is groan.  It could be over the death of a loved one, or maybe physical pain which has taken your breath away and left you speechless.  Today’s reading says “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”  Wow!  When it is beyond our human power to pray... the Holy Spirit prays for us.  I’m not sure that this is comforting because that means that you are in a lot of pain.  I have a friend named Pastor Dan Chambers.  He is basically bedridden and is in constant pain.  He can’t sleep most nights and when he does, it is only for a few hours.  I know Dan is suffering a lot.  I’m at a loss of words and don’t quite know how to say this.  When I’m sleeping like a baby and Dan is in excruciating pain... when I fail to pray for him, God does!  Dan would not wish what he goes through on anyone, yet Dan keeps making it another hour, another day.  God is always with you, even when you wonder where He is.   “27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”  And when you think that you are in control, today’s reading states: “30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.”

I pray: O Lord, Father in heaven, never leave or forsake us. Turn our complaints into prayers and our condemnation into glory. Amen.

Look at the Words say they "fell away". The had it, but lost it. Just like the Bible says your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
