Romans 6:12–14 (ESV)
Dead to Sin, Alive to God (Part 3)
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members
to God as instruments for righteousness. 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
You know, we have choices to make in our daily life. We can choose to do
what’s right, or we can choose to do what’s wrong. Sin is like a cancer and needs to be removed from our bodies. If you are sinning, stop it! Do not be a slave to sin, for it will control and destroy your life. Today’s
reading says “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.”
I pray: O Lord, let the Holy Spirit work in my body to help me remove sinful habits that exist.
Help me to say no to sin. I am a new creation, help me to live and walk according to God’s will. I live by grace, but am still called to do good works and to be holy. Forgive me Lord and help me to do better. Amen.
