Romans 1:26–32 (ESV)
God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Ok, please bear with me... I’m not going to candy coat this passage, nor am I going to ignore it.  Today... churches are turning their back to this passage because the world is changing and the people want the church to change with the world.  We must remember that God’s Word does not change, but stands forever.
Isaiah 40:8 (ESV)
8     The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.

Ok, now... what am I talking about?  Well, verse 26 speaks about lesbian relations and verse 27 speaks about homosexual relations.  But wait... this is in the New Testament!  Yes it is.  It reads:

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

The church needs to stand firm in God’s Word, but many church’s are selling out on God’s Word and allowing worldly passions to creep in.  In fact today, the church is being viewed as evil and out of touch because of what the Bible says.  Well, I will side with God.  If God says it, I believe it... that settles it.  I am not speaking against homosexuality... it is God that is doing it.  The same God that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the same reason.  These are not the only passages that speak against it, but I would rather proclaim a message of repentance, and forgiveness.  God wants us to repent of whatever our sins are, stop doing them and to live according to God’s will.  I have many friends that live this life style, but that doesn’t make it right.

I pray: O Lord, I repent of my sins and want to do better.  Help me not to single out any particular sin as worse than another, but to know that all sins are damning.  Help me to turn from my sinful ways and to walk in your light.  Help me to reach out to all people and share the message of Christ’s work of salvation.  Amen.
