Jesus Again Foretells Death, Resurrection
30 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know, 31 for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he
is killed, after three days he will rise.” 32 But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
I remember sitting in church as a kid and my dad would give me one warning when I
acted up. There were no second warnings, just him saying calmly “just wait till we get home.” I knew I pushed it too far and He never backed down on his punishment. Now today, the disciples are not in trouble, but Jesus does remind
them again about his coming death. “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” They better remember this because Jesus has now told them
twice that he is going to die and on the third day he will rise. They should get it... “but they did not understand.” Maybe they were just not good listeners.
I pray: O Lord,
I know that I don’t always listen to your Word. Help me to be a better listener and to trust your Word. Help me to never be afraid to ask you anything. Amen.
