Acts 9:23–25 (ESV)
Saul Escapes from Damascus
23 When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him, 24 but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him, 25 but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.

What do you do when you find there is a traitor around?  You go after him.  That is exactly what they do to Saul.  Saul was a hero for going after the Christians and now he has become one of them.  Now they have to stop him!  They posted guards at the city gates.   To escape, the disciples came up with a plan to sneak him out of the city by lowering him over the wall in the cover of darkness.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, Saul was able to move on.  If they would have stopped him, the New Testament of the Bible would have been cut in half and we would have lost the greatest Apostle.

I pray: O Lord, protect me and guide me in my daily journey.  Satan is always trying to stop Christians and to shut them up.  Help me to always remember that the battle has already been one on the cross.   Help me to stand firm and to share the Gospel to all.  Amen.
