Jesus Cleanses the Temple
he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, 48 but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.
Jesus cleanses the Temple from those whom he calls “robbers”. They are profiting off of God through unfavorable exchange rates and selling sacrificial animals that were not acceptable to God. The Temple was
to be a house of prayer, not a den for robbers.
I pray: O Lord, help me to not abuse you or use you for personal gain. It’s not about me, but you Lord. Help me to serve you in an honorable
and God pleasing way. Amen.
