Luke 17:5–6 (ESV)
Increase Our Faith
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

It is the apostles that are asking the Lord to “Increase our faith!”  Jesus is teaching that faith is not measured in quantity, but it is a quality.  A trait, you either have it or you don’t.  The apostles are asking this because they realize they do not measure up.  I think if we look into the mirror, we must too confess that we do not measure up.
The Lutheran Study Bible states: The tiniest faith accomplishes remarkable things. Like the apostles, we may feel a weakness in our faith. Today, pray for the Lord’s strength. His gift of faith is anything but weak, and He will grant you strength to accomplish the impossible.

I pray: O Lord,  I believe; help my unbelief, O Lord. Increase my faith in You. Amen.
