Luke 13:18–21 (ESV)
The Mustard Seed and the Leaven
18 He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”
20 And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? 21 It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
I would love to be able to write a long article on this... but it will be short. All I can say is that the Kingdom of God will not fully be appreciated until we get there. It doesn’t seem like much when
you are baptized, but as you grow... you learn more about it, but we will not know the full value of this gift until we are there.
I pray: Lord, give us wholeheartedly to the task of extending
Your reign, even though we may never see the growth that we would like. Keep us focused instead on the final consummation. Amen.
