(Back and barely alive from the Youth Gathering.  We had a great time, but I'm worn out.  Article is late because I seriously slept in!)

Luke 10:21–24 (ESV)
Jesus Rejoices in the Father’s Will
21 In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
23 Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

As a Christian, it is frustrating that many people just don’t get it when it comes to faith in Christ.  I can explain it in the most simple terms and yet people shake their heads and walk away.  Sometimes you want to get some pipe cleaners and run them through one ear and out the other to get the cob webs out of their head.  The problem with this frustration is “we don’t get it”.  We still think that we can use reason, rationale, and simplicity to get the gospel news to them in a way that saves them.  We need to go back and read today’s passage.  For ANYBODY to understand Christianity and what Christ has done for you, the missing link to UNDERSTANDING this is the Holy Spirit.  Without the working of the Holy Spirit, faith is not kindled.  Just like baptism is not a baptism with out water, you cannot convince someone or convert them without the Holy Spirit.  We must plant the seeds of faith by sharing the Good News that Jesus died for their forgiveness and restores them to the Kingdom of Heaven, but the person hearing it also needs the work of the Holy Spirit.  “We don’t get it” when we think we can bring about their conversion to Christ.  Reread this passage with this thought in mind: “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”  Those who see what you see are blessed, that is if you have faith in Christ.  So don’t get frustrated with those who reject, but keep witnessing, praying for the working of the Holy Spirit, and let you life be a living witness to all who know you.

I pray: O Lord, help me to share Jesus, that he lived a perfect life to substitute his life for mine as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.  I know it should have been me on the cross for my own sins, but he stepped in as a substitute and God accepted His life for the forgiveness of sins.  Help me to get this message out and I pray for the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of those that hear this message.  Help me to not get frustrated with people who reject this message, but help me to never give up on sharing this message.  Amen.
