Revelation 22:18–21 (ESV)
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

As we read these last verses of Revelation, a strong warning is given to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book.  “This book” is not the whole Bible, but the Book of Revelation.  You are not to add this book or take away from this book.  “If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”  We need to be real careful how we interpret this book.  Too many people have been adding to this book words that are not there.  There is no second chance.  When Christ comes, it IS judgement day.  In the Left Behind Series, Rayford and Chloe are left behind and have to endure many trials.  The books are exciting to read, but they are not scriptural.  They are fantasy.  The authors believe the story, so do a lot of others.  But stick to the scriptures.  Do not add to Revelation or take away from it.

This Revelation is over.  Jesus says “Surely I am coming soon.”  Remember that John is looking into the future from the past.  The Revelation closes and Jesus is speaking to John and tells him “I am coming soon”.  We are living in that “soon” and we are waiting patiently.  Do not let anything get between you and God.  Stay focused.  We pray: “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! We wait for you and pray that we endure unto the end.  We pray to receive our inheritance, to live in the Kingdom of God.  Come Lord Jesus!  Amen!
