Revelation 19:1–5 (ESV)
Rejoicing in Heaven
19 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,
        Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
    2     for his judgments are true and just;
        for he has judged the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her immorality,
        and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”
3 Once more they cried out,
        The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.”
4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” 5 And from the throne came a voice saying,
        “Praise our God,
all you his servants,
        you who fear him,
small and great.”

After the fall of Babylon, Heaven sings praise and rejoices!  The great multitude are the saints that have died in the faith.  What do they cry out?  Hallelujah! Hallelujah means “praise ye the Lord”.  The Great Prostitute has fallen, which means to us that God is in control.  God is always in control.  We may seriously question this, but He is in control.  God doesn’t always work the way we would.  We may question his motives and even ask “where are you?”  There are time the world just doesn’t make sense or we simple don’t feel his presence.  Never doubt, God has not forsaken you, He is just doing things His way.  After all, we pray in the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy will be done.”  We spend too much time trying to understand God, or even dictating to God what needs to happen in our prayers.  God is so much bigger than us, we cannot understand His infinite wisdom.  Why lower God to our level, why not just let God be God.

Three times they cry out “Hallelujah!”  I get chill bumps when I read that the 24 elders fall to their knees along with the four living creatures.  I pray that we too cry out in prayer: Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him small and great. We praise you for who you are and what you have done for us.  We praise your grace and mercy.  We praise your forgiveness and guidance.  You are our God and worthy to be praised! Amen!
